Hi I've just popped over from beauty and I need some help with my hair disaster.

I've been colouring my hair at home with perfect 10 black but boots had none left a few months ago so I picked up a live colour instead.

My hairs down my back and I left my roots until they were about 3/4 inches long as I wanted to go back my natural colour (dark brown) so wanted the hairdresser to see what my natural colour is.

Anyway I explained I'd been home colouring she never asked which one I used. I paid extra to have a product used that strips the colour without bleach. Long story short that didn't work so she bleach washed it but that only worked on the root so she tried a few more times to bleach it but this didn't make any difference.

She then tried a brown on top but it wasn't taking so she kept trying different things (I'm not sure what).

Anyway it ended up lookin okish but I ended up covered in tint it was all over my face neck and ears (and I mean all over) but when I got home I realised she'd only covered the top of my hair with colour all the underneath roots were still ginger and the ends black.

I went back the next day to get her to rectify this and she said I'd have to go back black. So she put a black mixed with red on but it's really patchy and streaky and you can still see the ginger coming through but my ends are black. Also my hair now feels like straw when I went to her the first day she commented on how healthy my hair was and now it's ruined.

I'm not sure I want to go back to her as ive lost my confidence in her and the salon (it was more like a youth club). But what can I do she mentioned that live stains the hair and that's why the ends won't lift, but if the roots aren't taking colour should I just get another live in black to stain the roots?

Please help I'm just so depressed since this has happened.

Thanks
Sarah x

Hi Hon, Sorry to hear about your hair colouring problems. Returning hair to it's original colour can be technically challenging and especially when you are dealing with home colouring products. A good quality colour remover such as Affinage Eraser works by removing only the artificial colour molecules from your hair and would probably need to be applied at least three times to remove several layers of diy black. It doesn't damage the hair structure and I personally try to avoid using bleach baths for this reason. If you think your hair is in poor/damaged condition, the only sensible solution is to visit a really good quality salon and have a detailed consultation before undertaking any further remedial action. Best of luck.

Thank you so much i thought that's what I'd have to do but I'm just so annoyed at having to pay twice x
