My friend does spray tanning and she uses an Iwata and the spay gun as well. It takes her about 20mins to do a full tan and some people come back saying they are patchy. I wanted to start spray tanning and i was wonder about what equipment to buy. I have looked on Ebay and i have seen some HVLP spray guns and you can tan in 5mins because the width of the spray is wider.

Can anyone give me any advise on the compressors to use please.

I have just completed a one day spray tan course at my local college with Naturasun (prev FantasyTan) and it was great we tried 2 compressors....the small one (TC2000) which is recommended for Mobile use takes about 20 mins full body and the larger one (TC5000) takes about 8 minutes and I wasnt patchy at all and it was Trainees doing my tan. try Naturasun Website which is www.naturasun.com

Hope this helps.

I would recommend that you do not use a compressor and airbrush, there is far too much overspray which causes major problems. A good HVLP system is what you want, there are quite a few on the market, personally I use Tantrick - www.tantrick.co.uk - and find the overspray almost nil AND there are 4 shades of tan to suit client's skintone.:)

Sudo is an excellent tan to try.... at the end of last year they had a piece about tans on one of the beakfast shows... (I think it was 'Good Morning')

Sudo came out best above all the others they tried, and they did try what were considered to be the most popular.

I use su-do and find it marvellous...

I'll PM the details for you if you're interested!!!

Have to agree with Sue, Su - do is fab and it gives a lovely tan

check out their website www.su-do.com or call them on 01423 340 040:Love:

You would get an even tan from most likely uneven application or barriers on the skin such as deodorant, make - up, mosturiser, perfume etc:cry:

Tanning is just like nails, in that if you don't prep properly - the end result just isn't that good. A body that has been sprayed, but not properly exfoliated will go patchy. With an airbrush or gun, a tan is fairly easy to apply, and shouldn't really go patchy unless the person applying it is actually missing bits or it hasn't been properly exfoliated.

Different solutions will give different colours, last different lengths of time and in some cases fade differently, but I would honestly recommed you try out several yourself (if you are going to excel, you may be able to pick up some samples for your friend to try on you) and go with a solution/colour you really like. I went this the painful process last year of changing colour every few days and to be honest in some cases looked like I had either been Tango-ed or hadn't washed for a month. But it was all worth it in the long run to setlle on what I found to be the best solutions and systems.

If you want to look at the systems I decided on, I'm happy to run through them with you, but as a distributor now, would rather do that off-line, so feel free to pm me if I can help.

Lyndsay x
