Contraindications for Eyelash Tinting

Hi,

I have a client coming tomorrow - can anyone tell me if it is a contraindication to tint a clients eyelashes whilst she's pregnant.

i dont THINK it is....there was a girl heavily pregnant in my college class had a perm and a tint.....

as long as you have a patch test i THINK your ok.

Contra indications

Do a tint test somewhere like behind the ear at least 24 hours prior to tint to test for allergic reaction. Get the client to sign a disclaimer saying that she didnt have any allergic reaction from the test.
Make sure the client has removed contact lenses and has no eye infections. Just be careful when removing the tint and make sure it is all thoroughly removed before she opens her eyes. I use a small bowl of water and run some over the eye before opening and after wiping tint off just to check it has all gone whilst the client turns her head to the side to rinse out any tint which may be left with the soaked cotton wool pad before wiping again with damp cotton wool and cotton buds if needed to get under the lashes. This way the client doesnt get any stinging sensation when the eyes are open and they feel refreshed, I learnt this in a salon I used to work in and the clients love it.

Sorry this is the first client I have had who is pregnant. She's been to me privously for eyelash tinting but not since she became pregnant.

Hi Yvonne,
As long as you do a new patch test as although your client has her lashes tinted regularly hormone levels fluctuate hugely while pregnant and this can make the client sensitive to products she is normally fine with.
