Hi Guys

I have a spare room i want to set up as a nail room (come beauty room when i qualify!!!!)

Anyone got any advice.

I like the contempory feel (has anyone seen p.43 of professional nails the inside of Palms - salon i like that! ).

Neutral colours and a simple nail station (wood of some sort) not all hi-tech and trendy!!

I am sure i read someone had kitted out their room with stuff from ikea.

Any help is appreciated (as always) i want it too look good but not spend the earth!!!!!

Thanks again.

You dont have to spend a fortune to have a great looking nail/beauty room. I'm just haveing mine all rebuilt (plastered, painted ect) I think the mail point is if your not buying a nail tech table then get a good extractor.
I agree about keeping the colours very natural, iv painted mine warm cream and iv had a fire place ripped out so hubbie is gonna air brush a picture on the wall. Cant wait till its finished !! ikea do some great stuff...i love there peanut table.

I've put caligraphy painted cream wallpaper in mine with coving in white, wide skirting boards, laminate flooring in beech and voiles and naturals curtains. People have commented on the fact that because its natural it relaxes them. I've haded a little colour with Lilac towels and candles to break it up and some primrose, it all blends together. I have added some pink as well the Peanut table with pink legs, but it doesn't look out of place because the tops white, so that blends in as well.
Ikeas a good place to get some of your things, try those natural earthy type shops as well.

Dawn can you tell me the name of the Ikea table you refer to ....please please please...my catalogue has them but they are green legs which is not for me...

Thanks

I got the peanut table too but in dark lilac. When i got mine they only had turquoise legs left but hubby has sprayed them silver and they look great! I know they do them in quite a few different colours, just depends if they are in stock or not......see the thread in chit chat about anybody looking for a new table, there was a link there for the ikea one.

Hi Ya, im a complete lilac fan! and so my room is in lilac but i do have a white wall to break up the colour, i have two long standing candles against the white wall and am in the process of putting up some of my backscratchers posters i have a desk which i got from Argos and behind where i sit are my certificates. I do have a small coffee table which has my leaflets on, of course the professional nail mags and a lovely lilac butterfly orchid in the centre. Its basic at the moment but i will be adding bits to make it more cosy being a lilac fan i am also a butterfly fan and my friend who is a great artist is designing a butterfly picture to go on the wall x x

right ....sounds like its the one i have seen on the Ikea Web site...its slightly to long for my room....boohoo

I am so gutted that is unless I can find a cheap glass locking corner unit for my retail...

Right......hunting for a 'peanut table' !!!!

Thanks Guys - hope to show some pics when its done i like all the earthy colours - i saw an article in one of the mags that showed centre parcs new spa and it may sound naff but it looked AMAZING they had sarongs on the Nail Stations - like table runners is that the name for them (?) think it was under the towels -and they looked FAB.

My room is very minimal and paintd white, I have my posters on the wall and certificates and various nail art bits around the room. To add a splash of colour i used mosiac tiles and cheated i stuck them to transparancy paper and double taped them to wall so can be changed at any time. I then got a cheap glass and chrome tier effect unit and my retail bis are on here where everyone can se them easily. Its very like a greek spa in colour and design. Went for white table and assessories and got mine with fan from the loot and added colour with the tiles and products on show.

Good luck with your new venture and enjoy
:)

Hello

The table I got was the Peanut one, which you probably already know now from the others. But if you wanted a smaller one there is the square shaped table which you can get the pink legs for, I think they have an egg shaped one as well, which is also smaller then the peanut one.
