Hi there everybody

I have noticed that a lot of nail salons seem to ask for Creative Training!! Creative seem to only do nail extensions and not basic man and ped.... so why do salons prefer to take on Creative Trained people. Sorry to be nieve but do you think it is more important to get man and ped behind you than nail extensions and is man and ped more popular than extensions?

Any helpers on this one....

Cheers Emma

Creative do do a man-ped course, it is called spa day, this course shows you how to apply creative spa products, its a fun day, but you dont learn the basics of maicure's and pedicure's, like the stucture of the skin, functions of the skin not forgeting the bones and muscles. For this you would have to do a Beauty Therapy course. In my salon nail enhancements are the most popular sevices followed by manicures.

Because it is the best training available and Salon Owners know that if they ask for a Creative Trained Technician - particularly a Master - they will receive a competent tek!

You are not naive and that is great question - one that will be remedied come 2005! As Lily rightly said, we do the CreativeSpa day which teaches you how to use our SpaMan and SpaPed system! We haven't to date done the in depth manicure/pedicure course because colleges include it in their NVQ Beauty therapy course and most girls who learn enhancements can quite happily do manicure without learning skin, bones etc...it's not that difficult let's face it! In fact we cover everything in the various classes but skin & bone structure.

We do however realize the importance of this which is why Samuel Sweet has taken a massive step in our Education program for 2005 - you think it's good now? Wait 'til you see what we are going to be doing!!! HTH's! ;)

Sorry Amanda but no, you don't.

I did ITEC manicure and Pedicure and functions/structure of the skin, bones, muscles etc. H & S, hygiene, professional ethics, first aid, data protection, client consulation etc. etc. etc. were all covered.
I expect that all these would also be covered in the all new, singing and dancing nails only NVQ.
