Really need advice. I have a 47 yr old bride with really bad skin. Rosacea, flakey, combination, sensitive, dehydrated, massive pores & incredibly droopy, crepey eyelids. At her trial I used Lily Lolo mineral make up to combat the open pore issue (liquid foundation just showed up every pore on her face, even with a primer & smoother). She was happy with that & the coverage was good but she has told me that the make up on & around her eyes really settled into the lines on her eyes. I applied it at 10 am & she says it had settled "by that night". I used a good eye primer & all the techniques I know but she is coming back to re think the plan for her eyes & I feel totally clueless. Besides using an alternative primer on the lids what can I do to ease the application of the shadow & concealer to ensure it doesn't crease up ? I know brides can have totally unrealistic expectations but ...... aaaargh !! Any primer/concealer/eyeshadow recommendations ?

I get terrible creases with eye shadow as my eyelids are quite oily but i find urban Decay primer potion dos a decent job at gluing the shadow to my lid! I've also heard excellent things about the MAC Prep & Prime range. What Primer are you using at the moment?

I also have a lot of luck with those mousse shadows, Rimmel ones in particular, but i know that may not be any use to you.

I do agree she's possibly being a bit unrealistic in wanting her shadow to remain flawless from 10am through to the evening, i think even those with perfect eyelids will get creasing by then, even when using a primer!

I would second recommending Urban Decay Primer Potion. I would also second the fact that she might be being unrealistic. You say she said it had settled into the lines, "by that night". How long was she hoping it would look good for? A week?

Urban decay primer potion is a godsend! MAC liquidlast liners are also FANTASTIC and last for hours and hours, not always easy to create a bridal look with...
Maybe pick a look that is easy for her to touch up and show her how to do it, then she can do a quick touch up in the evening.

You might be using too much eye primer. I've never had any issues with creasing and I use painterly paint pot my Mac . I have very oily lids and my make up never budges .... even after 16hours of wear!!! Fab product , maybe give that a go ?

Thanks for the ideas. I haven't used UD primer potion ... will give it a whirl. Mac paint pot is my preference but it's very drying so might opt for a silicone based primer to add smoothness. Seems there is no miracle cure for the Bridezilla !! I'm off to buy a magic wand for her next visit !!

P.S .... Noreen, you are far too good looking. STOP IT !!!

Bare Escentuals Brightening eye primer may be useful.....it can stand alone without further shadow if your bride would suit a golden toned shadow. The trick with it is to apply the tiniest amount; could be built up for more depth if using it alone. I think if her lids are so crepey it might be better to go for a simple look like this as contouring in the socket may make her eyes look worse. Good luck and I hope she has a lovely special day!

Agreed. My first instinct was to cut in a crease for her & make the droop receed but it's too much make up for such fine skin. I'm going to work on a neutral/clean lid & a soft liner pencil- set & blended with shadow to bring out her eyes. I can't use Bare Escentuals sadly as she has such sensitive skin & their products include bismuth which will make her flare up. I will bear it in mind for the future tho. Thanks
