Hi All
I know this has probably been asked before but after searching for hours through all different threads I cant seem to find what Im looking for, so here goes.
I want to try Crystal pedicures but I have heard that you can apply with shellac, resin or gel.
When I have used shellac on toes before and applied rhinestones in the shellac topcoat, within a few days they have fallen off. I thought that this was because the shallac topcoat was so thin, so didnt think that this was a good idea for crystals over the whole toe.
I have never tried the resin before, if you was to apply the resin in a line starting from the cuticle would you apply the resin over the whole nail, put stones on and then activate or would you activate after each line of stones have been applied. If you done it this way, would the activator not then be on the rest of the nail and cause problems when I then apply resin in the next line to add the stones, do I need to wipe the nail after each line with scrub fresh. Also have you then applied a little resin with a small brush in between each stone but not going on the top and then activate just to give them a little added strength.
Gel - I always find that stones stay on better if applied with a gel top coat. Is this the same with the stones on the whole of the toes as I have only every applied a few set in gel, over gel. Would I need to add a layer of gel first, cure, then the topcoat gel, then set all of the stones under the lamp, or can I just apply gel topcoat straight onto toes. Does this last long though.
Also people are charging between £55 and £60 for these. I assume that is all of the 10 toes. I cant seem to find a price for when people just want the Big Toes in stones and the rest polished.
How long should crystal pedicures last, as I know they take about 2 hours and costs loads so people want them to last. Does everyone give there cllients a little bag of stones to take home just in case they loose a few or tell them to come back, and maybe do a rebalance/infill by adding the lost ones on say 2/3 weeks later. How does everyone get them off, do you soak with acetone and magi foil wraps or buff them off.
I know this is a long thread but I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks
Abi
