Does anyone use a non CND lamp to cure Shellac polish? If so which one and does it provide just as good results? X

As you probably know, not all curing lamps are the same and each give different outputs.

The only way to ensure the correct cure of CND Shellac, is to use a CND lamp.

Essentially, using the correct lamp to the system is always advisable.

I agree but my salon manager doesn't want to spend over £100 for their lamp

You could buy your own & get her to sign a document saying its your lamp.

You can't buy the uv any more from s2, I tried recently, had to get the led at £240

As said above, the only way to ensure a proper cure is to use the lamp that is recommended for your system. You risk service breakdown and your clients' health otherwise, along with the possibility of invalidating your insurance. It's really not a risk worth taking, I'd explain that to the salon manager - It's likely to cost more than the lamp in the long run through service breakdowns and repairs

Surely your manager needs to realise this is an investment in her business!? The CORRECT product & equipment produces work with an unequivocal quality, which keeps clients coming back! If there is a service breakdown it will most likely be a cheaper lamp. She needs to see this as "spending money to make money" rather than trying to cut corners!

And I'm a "one man band" working from home, but I like to do things right

I have the Shellac LED lamp but do not want to lend it out. I agree that it's the only one to be used be I know she won't splash out. She's considering to buy a cheapy one online

Absolutely!! Don't get into that with her! Does she know you've got one? Maybe she's holding out for you to offer to use yours?

I use a Gellux lamp that I bought from Salon Services. I believe it was around £85. It has automatic sensor detection, so no annoying 'pressing buttons' all the time. It has 4 time settings on it, and has pretty light patterns on the top. It's also lightweight, from when I was mobile and an easily detachable bottom for disinfecting. I have had my lamp for 3 years and have used it almost every day, with no issues. Touch wood!

No she's not like that
