hi
Could someone please help I have just done a gel polish course and was told to cure the base, Polish and top coats for 30 seconds, but when I've read further after the course some say 10 seconds for base then 20 or 30 for the rest also to make matters worse I've just bought an led 18g lamp ( couldn't afford the gelish one at the moment) which say 10 seconds for everything unless it's dark colours then 20s , I'm more confused than before I did the course please help lol x

It would completely depend on the brand you were using.

Hi
I will be using gelish and blue sky
Thanks

Who did you train with and using what brand?

Hmmmmmm blue sky oh well enough said .. sorry I don't think anyone on this site will be very helpful.

I went on a course at a beauty training school where they didn't specialise in anyone brand, but we mostly used gelish, think I may just pay and do the proper gelish course thanks for the comments

The course i did wasnt brand specific either, I think a lot of the courses people do dont specify a brand.
I was taught 2 mins for UV lamp or 30 secs for LED lamp, Ive found by trial and error that some of my colours require 60 secs.
Best thing you can do is find the official guidelines for each brand. I use IBD and Gelish, 30 secs always seems to be enough. I do have a few bluesky because i bought a lot of cheap ones when I was training and I have to say I really dont find anything wrong with them, the colours are lovely, I dont use it on clients just myself.

Thanks Hannah for your reply will do that was starting to worry as I was reading about over curing and damaging the nail bed and when I watched a few YouTube videos a lot of people cured the base coat for 5 or ten 10 seconds, I just don't want to damage any ones nails

You need to choose a brand, purchase the same brand lamp and then follow the polish manufacturers instructions. Anything other than this and your insurance will not be valid.
