hey geeks!

i work in a big salon and the time people take to do things varies so much!
so, purely because i like to find out about other hairdressers ways.. how long does it take you all to do say.. a short cut an blow-dry, and a long one.. etc etc !

I allow a 45min appointment for a cut and blow dry as a rule. Some I do in half an hour, some with long thick hair need an hour.

We book out 1/2 an hour for both long and short. However we would cut it,then set an apprentice on drying it and then we'd finish it off. So we would have them both for 1/2 an hour (15 mins to cut+15 mins to finish off)but the apprentices would do the main work!

We allow 30 mins for shoulder length, 45 mins for anything longer and 1h if it's uber long and thick!!!

hi, i usually allow myself about 45mins for a cut & blowdry but as the other guys have said sometimes its done in half hr & sometimes it takes me a bit longer just depends on the clients hair type!x

We do exactly the same as cesalon, but sometimes its not about how much hair they have but how much they talk or just how demanding they are as a client LOL

I allow 45 mins. That allows a through consultation and for the client to feel like they are not being rushed in and out the door. I can do 30 mins but it then feels like a conveyor belt and not a service. :)

I allow one hour for each client but I work at my home salon and don't want clients to overlap. I would say I use at least 45 minutes for a cut and dry though. But often an hour as I like to spoil my ladies and do chat a bit before and after too.

I feel like a slow poke here! We allocate an hour generally, particularly for restyles, long and thick hair or new clients (Because if they book over the phone I don't like to harass them for the exact type of hair they have and they usually aren't very accurate!) I will allocate 45 minutes slots to a client if I know who they are and know I can do it in that time, or if its at the end of the day, or before my break so I have time to run over. I'm going into chair rental next month so I expect I'll be a bit speedier and more keen to push a 45min slot.

I've always been in salons that offer an hour - maybe it's just my area? However we don't usually use juniors to blow dry if the client is paying for full price, most don't like it!

I take 45mins to an hour for cut and blow dries wether it's short or long. X
