Please help! I have damaged a clients table by spiking acetone on it :-( she lived in a 4th floor flat and she said I could use her dinning table which is wood! I am prepared to cover the cost of it but wondering if anyone can tell me what to do please

If you have insurance you could make a claim if not you will have to agree a price and replace it :-(

I would not advise you to suggest you take her table away once you have given her the money ... that would not be good customer service.

Give her the money and it's up to her if she replaces it or not.

Make sure you find something you can protect your clients carpets, furniture etc with for next time.

Most Insurances tend to stipulate about using plastic coverings on floor or on tables, therefore I don't think you will be covered.
You could pay out for the replacement of the table, but maybe check and see if it can be repaired by a French polisher which could cost less.

I've just managed to repair my mums acetone soaked table by sanding it with a very fine sanding block. It's almost as good as new and the colour is still in the wood. X
