I am doing a mates hair in college and she is a dark brown around a 3/0-4/0 and she wants to be blonde , full head what do you recommed i do.
We use wella

Ok so lets start with colouring theory. Underlying pigments in natural hair or any colour as are followed : black-red, brown-orange -light blonde- yellow and platinum-pale yellow. So base 3-4 would be orange.

Right now for the process. So full head of blone, there is two diffrent methods, either a high lift tint or bleach and tone ( 2 step processing). I would personally go with the bleach and tone as you get clear results, i assume youre using blondor. Mix a ratio of 1:1 with blondor and 6% peroxide, and apply like a tint. Get it on quick and put under heat until a yellow colour is visable. Wash it off ( 2 x shampoo) but dont condition. Then get wella 10/0 and mix with 3% now using a ratio of 1:2, put the colour into a applicator bottle and apply to the hair. do this at the back wash, keep a eye on it until you think that you have achived the desired shade and depth. Then rinse out and condtion, style as normal :) if in doubt ask youre tutor. Good luck:)

this is classed as colour correction, u need to strip or bleach bath first, then bleach and tone! x

hi pinkwonder28 you need to establish if your friends hair is coloured to its current colour or not. if its natural then you need to follow BBH Salons advice, if its coloured then you need to follow magentahair's advice. This is why a thorough consultation is so important when carrying out such a dramatic colour change..im sure your college tutors will help you with this..hope it goes well. :wink2:
