Gilly your nails are fabulous! I am finding with my glitter mix that it isn't easily workable, it seems lumpy and hard to move. I have mixed it 1:3 with clear .

Sarah - with sculpting on the trainer hand, I am having a devil of a job getting the form on, is there a trick to it?

Thanks ladies :)

Thank you :o :)

I usually mix mine at about 25%, that 1 scoop glitter to 3 scoops polymer. Maybe try adding just a little more polymer to your mix but it is usually a bit lumpy anyway so I just try to work a tiny bit wetter.

I struggle like mad with the forms for my nail trainer and have started sticking the little tab from the centre of my form across the two flaps underneath, it helps a little bit but still not great.

Hi gilly, I totally agree with Kim, your first nails are amazing and I love the Ruby Slippers you've done. They fit the finger shape lovely, and the custom blend looks great too :) I need to get my ratio for cb right! xx

Kim, it's a case of patience hun . The fingers are obviously supposed to be as lifelike as possible, but doesn't take kindly to having a form fitted, especially the small fingernail  but I just fiddled and hoped it would stay on for as long as it took for the acrylic to set :) which incidentally I found my mix ok (?) I mixed my (very roughly with a tea spoon) 2:1 with clear being the most in the ratio.

Hope this helps hunny, have you done your 5th day yet?

xx

Thanks will try those tips :)

Yes Sarah did day 5 on Tuesday, only 2 of us turned up!! So the others have to pay to do it again!

I did finally manage to do my own nails but as the p&w's weren't brill I painted them and used foils and now I am addicted to those, some of them look like Minx, they are fantastic!!

I am going to practice sculpting and the reverse application method. Thank goodness I didn't sell my trainer hand, it comes in handy even though it isn't perfect!

I have to say I much prefer sculpting to tipping now especially with all the fab nail colours we have access to, although I know there will be some resistence to sculpting where I am because they are so used to having tips applied. I'm glad I have my hand too, comes in handy (pardon the pun :)) for practising new techniques and also for creating a bit of nail art from time to time. I really want to learn the reverse application but need someone to either tell me or show me as I really don't have a clue as to how to go about it!

Off Sarah goes to practice some more whilst pouring over her new Minx catalogue :)
