There are hard waxes, honey waxes and cream waxes. All of them require the use of a wax heater. Some will tell you that hard waxes or cream waxes are best for face waxing and hard wax for genitals and soft honey waxes for full body waxing. I am a lover of the honey wax and use it for everything. You need to play around with the different types and see what it is you like to work with. You might use them in combination with one another. At home I have 3 wax pots running at a time. One contains hard wax (which I am still mastering), and the other 2 contain different honey waxes, depending on what mood I'm in :)

You will find here in Australia waxes will be classified into 2 main groups, hot wax which is hard & used for facial waxing, I personnally also use it for underarms & bikini waxing, and strip wax, which is a thick liquid & is usually used for body waxing (alot more economical). Both need to be heated before use, optimal temperature varies between brands & waxes.
