What are people's experiences with dip powder acrylics with tips? I am a nail technician but I am struggling to master acrylics however recently I've seen a lot of posts on instagram about dip powder acrylics. The process for dip powder looks so much easier than the regular acrylics process but I wanted to know is it as good?

Do the acrylics last as long? Are they as strong? Etc.

Also what are the best brands of dip powder, I have seen a lot of videos for kiara sky and that particular brand looks good.

Please advise

Thank you

I'm going to watch this thread closely! I'd love to start dips. Looks so much easier and less stressful. I've heard good things about Kiara Sky x

Gelish Polygel may also be an option for you to look at

I had a client come in yesterday to soak off her dips. I asked her a few questions about it and this is what I've gathered along with other information on dips:

  • they last. She had hers on for about 6 weeks with no lifting and only 1 cracked offed.
  • IMO, dips don't give you a good shine because of how large the powder particles are.
  • Dips are unsanitary.
  • repeated exposure of skin to powder is an allergic reaction waiting to happen.
In short, if a company makes a dip powder, it voids them of being a good nail product company. This is because dips are not and cannot be a good product for a nail client according to people with a scientific background. Knowing this, if a company still green lights a dip powder, what does that tell you about them?

Keep on mastering your acrylics. It is a skill and an art form learned through trial and error. If someone can master acrylics, so can you. Don't waste your time with little fads like dips.

I've not seen anything bad about them! That's very interesting. They promote them as very safe and better for your nails. Do you have any links to that information? I can't seem to find much on it x

There's a lot of info on the net about nails but only a small bit of it is "correct". My source is from Doug Schoon, who used to work for CND as a product scientist.

Can you give us a link to the article please?

It's not an article but a video. You can sign up to his website(it's like $7): facetofacewithdougschoon.com

It's a wealth of information on there.
