So what's everyones thoughts on the dipping systems that are starting become more popular?

Strength? How long does it last? Tried & tested brands?

I have Cuccio's Powder Dip system (and did the training).

I was quite excited about it when I first started using it. Some clients loved it and others found it chipped more easily.
I wouldn't really bother using it for clients that just have gel polish and don't have problems with it lasting as it does take quite a lot longer to soak off than normal gel polish. For clients that normally have an overlay of L&P or hard gel, it can be a useful system to have as it is pretty strong. It can't really be infilled though as it's the same colour all the way through. I found it more time consuming to remove it all and re-apply, rather than when I file off old gel polish and infill.

Application - it takes some practice and/or filing to not get a thick ridge at the cuticle area which clients then find catches in their hair when washing/running hands through it after about a week or so. Also, if it's a bit thick around the sidewalls, it will Lift and chip quite quickly.
It's also tricky to build much of an apex so doesn't give much support to longer natural nails or nail extensions (although I have used it quite often over medium length extensions, but they can look a bit flat).

Another point to remember, and this seems to apply to all the Dipping systems, you can't use a normal gel polish topcoat, they're just not compatible. Some people use a normal nail varnish top coat, but I can't really see the point as it won't last very long. The best topcoat to use is a hard gel topcoat. (I'll try and attach a pic of the one I use from Sally's. It's nice and shiny and hard wearing. It won't soak off though, so will need to be filed off)
