Hi, I am a fully qualified beauty therapist in nvq2 and nvq3 and i rent a room in a hair salon. recently I've just been asked if i would train to become a hair dresser within the salon i work.
Would this be good for me as i am 33 and I am not getting any younger. Is it to late for me to learn new things???
Beauty is my passion and i love everything about it, but it would be a great advantage to be able to help in hair salon to, especially when i'm not busy.

Hey I'm 33 too and wouldn't hesitate to do something if I really wanted to. What u have to consider is how much she will pay you and what is expected if you whilst training. Good luck x

second that!! Take the bull by the horns!!

Hi I have been doing beauty for 8 yrs then also like you worked in a hair salon and they asked me to train so I did, but I then had a baby so I only do my families hair colour and cuts and the odd friends. I enjoyed it but not as much as beauty, but you make more money doing hair (I think) also if you have been around hair and colours etc you pick it up faster then you think. But remember hair isn't for everyone and I actually think it's pretty hard and technical when it comes to colours and correction etc.

Good luck I think you'll enjoy it. X

Go for it hun, it sounds great that you will get training in salon, will you get a qualification?? ~Have you go the time to do hair??? The world is your oyster. I would love to do beauty, i just dont have the personality for intimate hair removal, i tried it in my mums salon but it just wasn't me x x

It is a good opportunity but dont you think it might make you loose focus? Personally I always think it is better to have a clear focus and focus on one thing and do it really well. That is how I run my business. All I am saying is sometimes it is better do one thing 100% and really well than two things 50% and not as good as you might not be as focused. Not trying to deter you but it is something to think about. But if you think you can manage both and do them well then do, but I would personally focus on one.

Thanks for the reply's its nice to know what other people would do in my situation. I will qualify and get the certificate too
