Hello Ladies ,

I was talking to a lady about manicures this morning and said that I was planning on using CND to offer 'dry' manicure without the soaking But she has asked if I will also be offering a 'normal' manicure with soaking and luxury treatments?

Do you offer the first as a manicure with polish and then the one with the soak and added treatments as just a 'luxury' manicure ? I have seen in my area , the 'dry' manicure offered as an express manicure? But im really getting confused on what the difference is between them all!

please help !

For me I offer:

Mini mani / pedi - cut, file, cream, paint

Traditional mani - as for mini but with soaking, cuticle work & massage

Vinylux mani - as traditional but without soaking

I charge the same for the traditional as for the vinylux. To be honest I only soak now if there is lots of cuticle work to do.

Luxury mani - more expensive, includes hot oil, mask or paraffin wax. Soaking depends on the state of the clients cuticles!

Pretty much the same, I offer different types of manicures depending on the reason for the clients treatment, I find the soaking manicures with an exefoliation, mask with/without massage are great for client wanting some me time and pampering.

Thank you ladies - the lady in question has lovely nails with virtually no cuticle issues but loves a pamper ! Would you recommend that I get the CND products advertised for vinylux for the vinylux manicure and then use another brand ( have heard good things about Kaeso ?) for the full traditional manicure ?

thanks again! x

I use different bits for manis - a mix of cnd and kaeso. For feet I still have some Thai spa products which are good too.
If you are stocking from scratch I would suggest you stick to one brand to give a more cohesive treatment image.
I'm just indecisive at the mo!!

If I had a client who wanted a pamper manicure I would do a hot oil manicure without soaking.
My personal routine would be:
Sanitise
Cut & file
Cuticle work
Apply nice smelly oil , put hand in plastic bag and place in heated mitt.
Repeat on other hand.
When cooked, remove from mitt and bag, do hand and arm massage with remaining oil . Wrap hand in towel while you do the other hand.
Wipe both hands with toner, hot flannel or soapy water(whatever you have)
Prep nails for painting
Job done in quick time!!

Oh I haven't got the heated mitts, good tip!

I am literally starting right from the beginning on everything ! I havent done anything beauty related for a few years and buying everything from scratch again. will have another look at the Kaeso range ! :)
That sounds lovely ! with the 'remaining ' oil , is that just any oil left on the hand/arm itself ??
and (really stupid question coming - just wait for it ) what is the toner?

Do you offer this with a gel polish or a standard polish? x

Hi
Yes, massage with the oil that is left on the skin when it comes out the plastic bag. If it's not enough just add a bit more. I use ready blended aromatherapy oils for this or Thai spa does a nice citrus oil for manicures.

For the toner I use kaeso rebalancing facial toner but any toner for oily skin will work. I wet a large cotton wool pad with it and wipe over the hands so any stickiness is removed.

If you are adding luxury treatments to a gel polish service, do your gel mani as normal first, then do the hot oil / mask / exfol afterwards .
