If we cut their balls off, then I'll knock a tenner off and no more. Business is business.

I'll do the same......can I perform the operation personally?:)

Can I treat gay men?:)
Men are probably more scared of me than I am of them:lol:
pmsl u are a stunner!!xx p.s lets have somenew pics on face book as sctterly glad gods !! gay or otherwise !!lol

Interesting that in most countries now, male doctors have to have a nurse in the room with them when doing an examination of a women because of the number of times WOMEN have 'cried rape' or complained of being molested by perfectly innocent doctors and dentists etc.

I fear women allot more than I do men. Women are more subtle and more potentially dangerous in my opinion.

True, I've met you:green:

I've really thought about this thread before I answered and yes, of course I know that Nailzoo is being sarcastic.

I don't actually think that any of the threads were anti men at all. They were anti, clients who get off on their treatment. Too true
I have read all with this with interest. I have to say, if in doubt don't......but if you advertise it then present the right attitude - no problem.

I have (in my home salon) spray tanned men (and women) bent double stark naked - and have had no trouble because I am very plain speaking on the phone - not rude, but very clear about what was involved.

I have to say, it is the men who are less trouble as they are so afraid of being accused of something. Some gay men (who have come together) have commented that they 'travel in pairs' to avoid being accused of anything...............in this day and age I think that is sad.

Very well put!!

I think its a shame we are so untrusting!

I hear men now need a consent form off a woman prior to sex if they feel she is too drunk, because without proof its statatory rape!!

The worlds gone crazy!

A woman where I used to live cried rape and absolutly destroyed 3 mens lives and their families in a heartbeat. She got found out and brilliantly got sent down for a year, sadley the men lost everything there homes, there families and their jobs!

It is true Men have far more to lose.

I've had quite a few laughs in this thread not the least of them were from Carl's original post!!

What is up with some people that they have to be so serious about everything?

In my opinion, the original thread that started all this going is degenerating as I speak and I think some (boys and girls) are 'getting off' on posting on it. It is touching on inappropriate now in some areas ... which is what always happens with these things .

they don't want massage/relaxation (they want sex),(no matter what you look like) (but perhaps your husband is different) ????? what makes them different from any other man that you generalise about ?

Oh thanks Carl. Here I was thinking I was hot and everyone wanted me and now you're telling me they only want a massage????:lol:

For the record I totally "got" Nailzoo from the outset.

:):):):):):):):)

I could party with nailzoo......

who could argue with such a brilliant assessment of the situation

You are going to inevitably find a small percentage of this in the industry - it's inevitable....we ain't all bad though.....

I'm getting the Kim Lawless treatment soon - she never said anything about cutting my plums off though - hope that's not a new policy??

bravo carl for this funny yet observational thread, I have actually found men are more vunerable in these situations than women to be quite honest.....a service which is intimate for a lady sometimes , is double for a man( he is probably more scared himself getting an erection than we are).....experience of running " clap clinics in the navy" bless em....and sometimes it takes men with big balls to actually pluck up the courage to book with a beatytherapist / nail technician and good on him ......and yes a few strange ones get through the net...but i tell you there are a few scary women out there that scare me more than men......

I confess I wasn't 100% sure about the intent of this thread, or from what it stemmed, so I bit my tongue. Glad I did, because I would have looked like an A** (with Carl, I am never sure and usually prefer to ask or wait and see lol)

I'm going out on a limb here...... and will probably embarass myself.... but I thought that by being straight up about things, maybe add a little perspective.

I have always been afraid of going for a massage.
WHY?
Because whenever hubby does it, even with COMPLETELY innocent intentions and without going anywhere near anything usually considered... well, you know what.... it gets me going so to speak :o
So, I've always been afraid that if I went, whether it was male or female, that I'd get those funny results and the idea made me decidely uncomfortable.

I do NOT think men have the cornerstone of the market in terms of 'funny results' from a massage. I think women do too BUT because it's not a visable reaction, no one is the wiser, so women don't get given a 'hard time' (pardon the pun, that is unintended but couldn't think of another way of putting it)

Who watches "Desperate Housewives"? And when Carl (the character, not Nailzoo LOL) gave a massage to a mature lady client who got her rocks off from it..... No one is afraid 'of' her. Only afraid 'of' men.

I understand that we women do have to be cautious. And it's not in saying that 'all' men are dangerous, the fact of the matter is, we ARE vulnerable. It's just the way of it.

BUT it's NOT fair to the male sex to condemn them for those reactions as we most certainly get them ourselves (because there is NO WAY I'm the only one...).
And I'm pretty sure that female/male massage therapists EVERYWHERE have had women on their table.... feeling some sort of 'bliss' and never even knew it!

BUT I definately do condemn them - be it a man OR a woman - if going for a massage is for that intent only whether or not they behave appropriately!

Ok, I'm off to hide under a rock for my embarassing confession
:o:o:o:o

Aileen Wurnos was trusted by men:) and women...

See, you just never know eh? :wink2:

I've not read all of the replies so far (naughty :o lol), but just wanted to say that if there were to be an official poll done from ALL SALON THERAPISTS of the percentage of male clients who have been 'troublesome' compared to female clients then the whole issue would become crystal clear

Ok Sandi, get a poll started then, I dare you:lol:

I havent read all this thread, but all i can say is that most if not all the male clients we have had in have done nothing but treat us with respect. they in turn are also treated with respect.

Carl, flowerpot, (and anyone else for that matter) not all men are the same sweetheart - just a shame that (as you already stated) we only hear about the bad ones - but believe me there are some good men out there, that do treat us right.

xx

I would say a third of my clients are male.
I find that male clients are very loyal and do book on a regular basis.

BUT......

I have had many phonecalls asking

"What type of massage do you do"?
so I tell them
Then,
"Yes, but what else do you do"?
So I tell them I also do a limited amount of beauty treatments.
Then I get
"Well I'm a naturist so want to get my kegs off"
OR
"Well I would like my groin and buttocks done"
I tell them I do not do sports massage and I do not do naturist massage.

Their is then a generally silence, I think they are waiting for me to launch into an 'extras' menu, but I just let the silence continue.

they generally tell me they will have a think about it and ring me back.
which they don't!

Now, I get a few of these a month. they never book. So, I am lucky in the fact that I have not had to deal with unwanted attention or unwanted behaviour in person, it doesn't get past the phone call.

I find it tiresome, and have learn't to get on with it. a lot of my new appointments are made by people running the reception, so if I see a new client booked in, I am apprehensive, but professionalism kicks in.

so, yes, have a whinge/tongue in cheek go at this unwanted, unsavoury part of a therapists life. I am so glad that I do not do home visits anymore, I always have someone on the premises with me. And I think we have to be cautious.

Well, as the original poster that seems to have triggered Nailzoo's rant I guess this is supposed to make me feel silly or embarrased but really it makes me feel sad to see such childish behaviour.

It is clear in my post I am only referring to ONE man - not all men. I am a 40 year old married women with 2 boys and am certainly not a manhater or scared of men or lacking in humour! How ridiculous! It was simply a request for other views on an incident which was not expected or acceptable for the situation it occured in.

As I work from home I appreciate this site for the majority of many amazing members who are always ready to give advice and help to other therapists. It is invaluable to be able to have open free discussions on all manner of subjects without being shot down and mocked by people who happen to disagree with you.

I am over this incident now and have moved on, older and wiser - hope you can do the same sometime soon Nailzoo.
