I'm after a bit of advice...
My face is so dry, mainly in the Tzone area.
It's flakes off constantly. It's really starting to get me down as I don't know what to do.
I exfoliate every few days because of it, I moisturise straight after but by the next day I'm back to square one.
Is there anyone out there with a solution or any recommendations to some amazing creams, routines I could try etc?

Thanks you!!!

Hi Leanejayne

What are you currently using on your skin? What's your routine?

It's highly likely that you are exfoliating too much and therefore stripping the natural oils from your skin.

I'm using no7 face cream and serum but using it every day doesn't stop the flaking, it just seems to conceal it till I was my face again with the same line of no7 face wash.
I have tried a steroid cream for a week, still doesn't work!
I've been googling a lot and have come across a fact I may be missing linoleic acid in my skin!?!

I don't want to purchase silly priced creams if they aren't going to work.. I have seen a face cream called linola which is meant to put the acid back into the skin so to speak.. But will this work.. I don't know.
I feel stuck in a rut with this silly problem haha

Are you using a cleanser, toner? How much water do you drink? Do you take any supplements? Is your skin itchy or irritated?

Was your skin this flaky before you started to exfoliate? How long has it been like it?

Steroid cream is certainly something I would step away from for the moment, it's not a route that is going to help you.

I haven't heard of the creamyou have mentioned. You could really do with seeing a skin specialist someone that will consult with you for free before trying to sell you anything.

I work with Environ skincare and I would certainly recommend googling Environ in your area to see if you canfind a stockist near by.

Thank you for you reply, I don't use a toner.. I don't drink loads of water as I dislike it, I take multivits, and YES my skin is slightly itchy and tight all the time. I have recently noticed it going into my hair line and on my scalp. That too is itchy.

My skin has been like it for years I only started exfoliating about 2 years ago (age 22ish).

Oh I may have to google your company and see who's in my area, I was in Birmingham a few weeks back and was going to pop and see the dermologica (spelling?) people but I hadn't got time to wait 2hours.

I had the same problem. My skin was getting dryer and dyer and flaking. I put it down to my skincare routine I was using clinique! I tried no7, estee lauder, body shop but nothing helped! I had an environ facial done and took some testers home. I also tested liz earl. For me and my skin liz earl came out on top but everyone is different! Definitely try environ or liz earl :) both use natural products so no nasty chemicals or alcohol that can dry your skin out further :)

Sorry for the delay in response, I am actually away on more skin training as we speak.

Water plays an absolutely huge role in how your skin is, it is what we put inside that makes the real difference afterall. Try herbal teas or something if you can't stand the taste or flavour it with fruit.

Have a look at taking some omegas, they will hugely help with your hydration levels all over your body, have a look at The Advanced Nutrition plan, don't buy from Boots etc as the levels you will get simply don't compare. They also help to ease any irriatation and redness as they are calming.

It may be hard but stop exfoliating! You'll just be aggrvating the problem.

Liz Earle and Environ are two hugely different brands actually, Environ works with products that our body/skin can recognise and absorb. From what I know of Liz earle they are purely cosmetic. Dermalogica has a large followin but I, to the dislike of others, am not a fan. At the end of the day you'll try what yo'll try and find something that workks for you but get your skin analysed.
