Hi!
I have recently trained as a hair extensionist *woop* and have a query..
If a client comes in with dyed hair (say natural hair colour is brown but has been dyed red)..
would it be better to tell her to come in once her hair has faded slightly, say after 3/4 weeks, match the hair extensions to her original colour and then she can go off and dye her hair again once the extensions have been applied (so that the hair extensions get dyed too from brown to red and end up the same colour as her natural but dyed hair), OR, tell her to come in with her hair freshly dyed and match the hair extensions to this colour?
Im thinking that:
1: with the second option, the dyed colour is going to fade from her natural hair, making the colour orangey-pinky-red therefore meaning it will no longer match the colour of the extensions as they will remain red, and
2: when she goes to re-colour her hair, she will be colouring the already red extensions, which I'm assuming will mean the extensions will go even redder and not match her 're-dyed after having faded' natural hair?
3: with the first option, the dyed colour will fade equally from both the natural hair AND the extensions, which would keep the extensions looking natural right? Or not? Bah!
Please help! If any of this makes sense!
Thank you!
