Hello all,

I have a client who wants electric blue slices in her hair. She is at the mo a naturel level 4. I have used plenty of fashion colours before, but have never tried to achieve blue.. I understand it is a hard colour to get. What advice can anyone give as the best way to do this, do you think it is possible on hair as dark as this. the way i understand it i would need to prelighten to quite a pale blonde but i still worry it will go green given the yellow that will be left in the hair....

Help please xx:lol:

I did a full head electric blue a few weeks back! She already had bleech blonde hair so I used platinium to lighten her roots then used crazy colour on pre washed hair! I was concerned of a green tinge coming through so just kept an eye for the full development time and checked it was rubbed in enough! End result was great but fades quickly!
you should definatley pre lighten !

Hi

Well i did electric blue at Xmas time, this was on level 5 we bleached the hair, and then placed a toner on the pre lightened bit we use a color sync toner to acheive a great base covering and place the blue on and it was pure electric blue, the colr we used was Directions Midnight blue and it was about £3.00 a pot about 5 applications from a pot, so it is good value, we were also told by using the sync toner the blue will last longer on the hair and it sure did , hope this helps.

Thanks guys

What toner did you use first I'm assuming it was an ash/violet based one. Just concerned about being able to lift it light enough first. She says her hairs got no colour on but you know clients like to lie about things like that even when you explain why you need to know lol xx

well uses matrix sync ash toner to get the warmth out the hair and then put the blue on, so good

I bleached up to white (to avoid getting green from having any yellow left) from a base 6 then used Rusk Electric Blue on a guy before Xmas. Colour came up really well and from what he told me it lasted a good few weeks. He went to Australia after I did it so I can't say for myself exactly how long it lasted.
