Hello girls!

I am a big fan of encapsulated gel nails. I have a lot of designs and I want to try them over my nails. One of the special things of the encapsulated nails is the transparency you get, that you can fill in with glitter and mylar. The problem is that I already have long nails, so if I would like to get that "transparent" effect, I would need to cut my real nails. Do you have any ideas or suggestions to avoid cutting my real nails, or the only way to get that effect would be to just chop them off?

Thank you so much!

As your free edge is opaque you will always lose the clarity and depth if you leave your natural nail in place. You really need to remove the length and create the free edge with the clear product.

Thank you Trinity! I thought so...I will feel that I'm murdering my nails by cutting them :(

Love the whole encapsulated gel thing too. My nails are short and I have no free edge so I like to do the clear space over my nail beds. That is to say that I'll encapsulate glitter on some but not all parts of the design. This approach could allow you to enjoy the look without cutting your nails.
