I had 3 full legs waxes back to back this afternoon. Took me 2 and half hours. I had told clients a mother and 2 teenager daughters how sugar was kinder blah, blah, blah but when I did the sugaring (warm strip sugar) It was so sticky and not actually taking many hairs off. Thankfully I had already warmed up the wax post so used that instead. I am not kidding you I must have used nearly 80 spatulas on those 3 clients legs, because I know not to re-dip and just put a little wax on each time.

My questions are
1. When doing a full leg how much wax do you put on with each application?
2. Would a roller wax be better for me and if so how are the cartridges cleaned between clients (hope this isn't a daft question)
3. How long should it take to do 3 full leg waxes, was I too slow?

Thank you professional waxers, regards from a novice.

It takes me 45 mins a client so I don't think you were that slow! I don't know anything about sugaring but if the application is with a spatular then why not try a warm wax and see if you get on with that better rather than trying to master a roller system.

I don't think you were too slow. I personally don't like sugar that much, for the very reasons you mentioned, i.e. very sticky and doesn't seem to get all the hairs out. I just don't find it industrial enough!

With regard to how much to put on at once, that really depends on the wax. It really does make a huge difference. For instance, if you use honey wax in a roller, you may find that if you put lots on, when you come to remove it, it may have dried and not want to come off. One of the reasons I love my wax (Ease) is because it is very creamy / oily and won't dry on the skin, so you can go ahead and apply to a nice large area before you start removing. This really helps with your speed too.

Thank you for that, have just ordered some and other bits from your site.
