Right, now you've got me started......!!! The thing that bugs the bejesus out of me at the mo are threads entitled 'Please Help'....... Help about what??!!!! Nails? Hair? Pregnant cats? Smelly dogs?

Just think, it's not hard..... Is it?

yeah i agree.

anyway, sassy, i have just the thing for you, its an anti depressant and hormone therapy all in one and it also has side effects of making you a super mod. i distribute for the entire universe, they r very popular on mars.

;)

Well as this is turning into a moan session I will add my two penneth. I foten wonder why people post a thread and then disappear 5 minutes later and don't come back on for days to check for answers.

But the type of member that annoys me most at the moment are the ruddy distributors who bump up old posts from way back when to promote their products. OR their only replies are either "I agree" "yes that's fab" just to keep bumping them up (do they think we are stupid - we're not but it makes them look so). OR they go in for the kill and say they can supply stuff (even when not asked for their product) and supply all the company contact details. They rarely actually give pro advice - they just use the site to sell their wares AND NOWT ELSE. They are becoming the biggest bugbear for the Moderators and if not careful they will catch us with PMS and we'll ban the lot :green::green::green::green:

Sorry Kimmi! Maybe I should start a new thread!

Oi Kimmi, you just want to get reputation points!! Go on admit it! lol! i do understand what you mean, its so damn annoying!! GRRRRR!!!!

Poor cat!!:eek:lol...

Here i am to moan !!!! :green:...........this is what bugs me .....a thread that reads "help please"..... help about what ????............i have to say i did do a blog on this a while back......

I think its so rude that you post on a thread and they never say thank you.....some never even go back to the thread........why start one in the first place,..........its so nice when you get messages even on your profile saying "thanks for what you wrote on my blog/thread".....goes along way in my book and as my mum always say.....................MANNERS COST NOTHING..

I also hate it when lurkers come on and stir a thread.........why do so many love to cause trouble?????.............xx

I have noticed this to !!

I only just realised that one geek that mentions a certain brand 24/7 is actually the distributor !!! Its driving me mad :irked::eek: If I see that brand name mentioned one more time I will scream !!

Also I get really annoyed when you give PROFESSIONAL advice then someone comes along and gives alternative advice and they are not even trained in that area, hellooooooo this is a site for professionals.

I know of quite a few geeks that don't bother posting anymore as it can be quite disheartening when you type something out then the OP buggers off without so much as a thanks or letting you know if your advice worked :smack:

But remember....

if we didn't bother...or more to the point in my case....YOU ALL didn't bother...

then people like me would never learn so much....!!!!!

The original poster might never come back to their post....but the replies will no doubt help lots of other geeks too... like Sandi said ( I think!!!...I have read all the thread I promise...just got a brain like a marshmallow )

Please do bother...or else I would have nothing to look at when I go into search

For every twit that doesn't take the good advice that is always given....there will be many more of us who do appreciate it

( I am a twit ... but I do appreciate your advice :green: )

I'm a twit too, who loves the advice! still fairly new to the site, but I am totally addicted. Already picked up on the fact that some people are pushing certain products, but if that is the product they believe in, then it's normal I suppose. I'm quite open to that and ensure I read what everyone has put Hopefully I can then make my own choices.
And (in case I ever forgot) Thank you to anyone who has helped me in the past.

Here here!! ........Brilliant thread Kim! x

None of it bothers me anymore

Well, if I start a thread and peeps have looked but not commented and its slipped down to page 2 then much as I have read the replies, I don't put a comment on the thread because I don't want peeps thinking I'm bumping my thread up when no ones really interested in what I've had to say. Because as already said, that bugs me to when peeps put inane comments at the end of a thread.
For example I put a thread up on how to take a good photo, got a rep for it but no one really commented so I gathered it wasn't interesting.

I just want to say one thing... please don't stop giving fab advice, even if the thread starter doesn't appreciate it, there will be many members (or non-members) who will :D

Yes I love all your advice, its helping me. I joined this site about a month ago and the amount of knowledge I have gained from Salon Geek is truely incredible, what I know now from what I knew a month ago amazes me, but keep it coming, I appreciate it tons x

i've been on the site for yonks, but i still learn tons of new stuff from everybody all the time.
i so agree that even if the original poster doesnt seem to be bothered with the answers, its always helping someone.
even if that someone doesnt have the problem at the time, the knowledge will be stored and used at a later date.

i also love to know whats being done by techs overseas so its great when our global geeks answer too.

and for those people who post things like 'i know this might sound silly, but...'
thats also invaluable for me as an educator to help see things from a novices point of view and be better prepared to pass on knowledge to students.

I completly agree with everything you said Kim. Some people are just too lazy or too ignorant or too forgetful to say thank you.

As my mum says ''mind your p's and q's!''

But as mentioned previously keep up the answers, I have learnt so much from others questions, I'd be lost without it sometimes.

Becki xxx

The threads from distrubutors posing as students do me napper in too. So transparent. You check their profile and it says nothing. All threads saying the same thing about how fab xxx product is.

I try and help as much as I can but sometimes I know I am just wasting my time esp when my hubby is saying 'are you going to actually join me tonight?' But most of the time it is appreciated. I think.

Well I'll put my two penneth in then  The thing that bugs me is when people only come on to tell you something about them, then go again only to come back a couple of months later and do it again. Thats it, thats all they do, they never join in anything else.

But I am in full agreement with you Kim, it is so rude when people don't bother acknowledging your help.

As my mum used to say .... "good manners cost nothing".

I think there are far far more positives than negatives on this site....so i am just going to try and focus on the good....:)

Oh come on Kimmi....I am getting serious Deja Vu here.....this happens all the time doesn't it????

DOES IT ????? I wouldn't know.............I'm only interersted in me  I guess we notice it more when it happens to us. You are right though. xxxx

SASSY !!!!!! Don't get me bloody started on that one. And what about the ones that get other geeks to start a thread saying how wonderful they are? At least I do that myself under another one of my many geek names. You know what a bolsy mare I am...........I've even had a flaming row on here and realised that it was with myself LOL.

ARGHHH!!!!! Sod the kitten............gonna throw my nan into a fan. xxx
