After doing my OPI course (see other thread) the girl how was teach said you can do express nails that take for a full set 30 mins she would not tell us about them as there is a workshop for that (surprise surprise) but does any one know about this and what and how you do it?????

Express nails are 'stick ons' just like the ones you can buy from any chemist.

Full coverage plastic stick ons.

they are not very good then

Someone does a WORKSHOP to put on stick on nails????

arghh. what is the world coming to

OPI/Lena white training centre offering Express nails, like i said she would not tell anything because there is a work shop which I thought was a bit funny but the offer was full set £25????? also infills, rebalance what ever there are called infills by OPI I call them rebalances but i have been told this is incorrect where called express infills 1/2 priced?????

my express nails arent stick ons, they are just blended tips with resin applied over them so that they last up to a week, ideal for special occasions or for people who dont want them on long term...some people call them weekenders, do a search on here its been discussed loads.

There was a system one of my suppliers introduced a while back (by salon sheld I think) where you apply a full tip & put resin on them. Not temp though & instead of infills they were soaked off & reapplied. They gave me a pamphlete on it but I threw it out. Seemed weird to me.

I got that too but never ever thought of doing it....It's just a waste of money.

Sorry to but in, but I had this problem with my pms, are you accessing them through the pop up boxes because if you have pop up blocker it wont allow you but you can get to them by clicking on the private message wording at the top left hand side, hope I am not interfering or stating the obvious.

One of the nail techs in my town tried to poach a heap of my clients with it when they went to the hairdressers she's at. They couldn't see the sense in it either. Not one left me.

I think you may be talking about "GO30" or "Prescription Nails". We have a distributer here in Australia if anyone wants to know I can PM the details.

I did an article about this in my newsletter a while ago. They have their market and from what Ive heard are ideal for people who dont like the odour or the filing of Acrylics.

When you buy a kit they give you a day's free training with further follow up training if needed.

One tech I know swears by them and she is a huge Airbrusher so it leaves her more time for doing her Airbrushing creations.

hth.

I have taken over from a girl in a salon (renting space). Well, they all tell me that she did L&P - tips and acrylic - in 30 mins!!! They were amazed I take 2hrs. I asked what she did to be so quick. Response was "well she doesnt muck about pushing back cuticles, and all that like you do"..... mmmm. Despite this, they insist they lasted! But, over the time I have been there, little comments like "Well, I did have the lifting done quite a bit" "She did get greenies under the nails" "you could see a bump where the tip joined the nail" ! Nice. But they say she was trained in the US and is a TOP tech - she also charged £35.00 a set.

i do the weekenders alot mostly for nurses and teenages who are not allow to wear them for work or school they love them. all i do is put a tip on blend put liquid buff on from OPI and airbrush a design on. There's a picture in my gallary before and after.

cant see the need for a course, if you can do nails then you can do express or weekend nails, bit of a rip off if you ask me...

Most of us have been applying nails that last for 2 days since we were 12 haven't we?? You can do it with any tip and resin. Not that I would !!

Hi All

I dont get a lot of time to visit this fab site, but i have just come across this one, funny enough.

Watch out in the forthcoming editions of our fab trade mags and all will be revealed on the OPI 30 minute nails.

I demo'd them at Professional Beauty at Excel for the press and actually did a full set of Tip and overlay, L&P in 29 minutes and 10 seconds!!!!

i did then have to go and have a lay down i might add!!!!!!

No really, it can be done. It is probably more than my jobs worth to divulge any more information at the moment, but, if anyone needs any help, advise or info after it has all come out, then i would, as always be more than happy to help.

In the meantime start building up them biceps and loosening up those wrist joints!!!! You'll need to!!!!

I just read about GO30 today. They seem to be popping up all over the place in Auckland with the name Prescription Nails. I had a lady ask me today if I still do nails "the old way" or if I can do them with that new "30 minute thing" she's heard about. After a bit of investigating I found them online.

Also spoke with a friend who is a more experienced tech, she went and got her's done to see what was involved. It's more of a stick on thing with a coating over the top, but she's had her's on for 2 weeks now and she said they look good and have lasted really well. Another friend has lost about 6 clients to them.

I wonder if the "real" nail techs should start to worry or is this just a passing fad? They seem to go against everything we are taught relating to hygiene, prep and care of the natural nail.
