Hi all. Need some advice on extending a clients exisiting natural nail. My training with NSI (Gel Foundation) only really covered sculpts and tip application whereby the client had no length at all. However recently one of my models had quite a bit of length that she wanted extending just a bit further. 'Cos I'd not really been shown this, ended up filing down to more managable length for me to deal with, which I hated doing - wouldn't have wanted this if I was her! - but didn't have much choice as needed pics for my portfolio.

Did try search but couldn't find much. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

To extend the free edge slightly, I would apply a form and sculpt to the desired length, retaining the length of the natural nail.

For a NNO, I would also apply a form to ensure that I cap the free edge to prevent the natural nail curling away from the acrylic.

I did try this, but I think the form may not have been fitted correctly, as the 'new' sculpt seemed to drop - probably need to perfect form fitting more do you think?

Was never really advised to fit form for NNO altho' what you're saying makes sense. By the way it's gel I use but I presume the techniques are the same for both.
