Hi geeks, I've been looking into eyelash extension courses and it all just seems sooo confusing.

Some courses are really expensive & some are so much cheaper!! Why?!?

Some have kids included in the price, but I don't know what is a good lot and what isn't. What's the difference between a c curl and a j curl? Lol

Do most courses cover strip & cluster as well as semi perm??

What courses can you recommend?? I looked into noveau but there too expensive. Ideally looking for something under £300 (with kit) Is that realistic?!?
Read on here, the marvel course isn't that great.

Also... I would only be offering lashes on Sunday, monday, Tuesday's as I will have my daughter on the other days. Do many of you lash technicians get business all week round? I do tanning and obviously they are more popular on thurs/Fridays.

Thanks so much for any replies I get.

I'm based in Bristol if that helps x

That's meant to be kits not kids lol.... Blooming iPhones

Try Belle Eyelash Extension Course £199 including kit.. all over uk :p

I did training with flirties it was one on one and included kit think it was a little over 300 x

Thank you Mandy & Lauren

Thanks pinks. I've just looked and there all in Surrey atm.

Just looking at eyelash emporium!?

has anyone trained with sallys salon services??

I've just trained with Eyelash emporium and cant reccomend them enough.

Wilma, the trainer, is passionate about the industry, correct application, safe application and practise, developing safe and high performing products and some things she said about what she has seen is shocking.

I preferred the classroom way of training, a small group where you could discuss and learn with the teacher. I really would say it is what you pay for, in reason, as EE didnt compare to college. My college should be ashamed of what they taught me.

Go with someone where you do case studies afterwards- no one can be trained enough to go and work on people after one day and no further tutoring. Go somewhere that focusses on health and saftey- you arw working with peoples eyes. Check they are accredited. EE carries 30 CPD points. Personally I wouldnt go somewhere where you train on other students during the course- they havent had a patch test?

Do loads of research. What do other people offer in your area? What would you look for in extesnions if you were a client? You want to build a reputation for being great, so start off on a strong footing.

It is a bit expensive, but my course cost around £325, with around £30 travel, but bearing in mind that you get a kit that has around 50-100 sets in it at a fee of £60+ a pair, you're soon making your money back.

Hi Karen....thanks for that... i have to say, the eyelash emporium is the course that is luring me the most!! have you needed to but anything to add to the kit at all??

and patch testing......some companies recommend this & some dont?!?!
i thought that patch testing wasnt necessary as the glue doesnt touvh the eyes? am wrong in thinking that??

bloomin pain if thats the case lol xx

Nope nothing needed to add.

I will also get barbicide (tweezer cleaner) but you do get proper cleaning wipes in the kit, I just know I will get throught them and would rather keep them for mobile.

You need anti bac hand gel but thats a given really, I had it already being a MUA.

I will add to the lashes, but thats not becuase there arent enough, just that I want some more curls in various thicknesses. You have the most popular and used ones and could easily just use the whole lot before buying more.

Honestly its amazing, call Wilma and have a chat. She owns the company and teaches at Pinewood so its her own reputation on the line and her busness so she isnt just working for someone else. She's in the industry and is so hot on patch tests. The reason being is they dont come into contact with skin so some companies say its not necessary. But the chemical reacts with water and gives off fumes to the eye, dependant on eye conditions this can be a problem and cause a reasction in rare cases....personally if someone is telling me to do a patch test I would much rather err on the side of caution.

Wilma goes into detail about everything and all the other questions you asked you'd find out on the course, like curls etc.

x
