Hi all,

One of my friends has been having her lashes done for a year or so by the same person, she had in fills done on Tuesday and since Thursday both eyes are very swollen and sore, she has just called very upset saying 90% of her own lashes have fallen out and only has 6 false ones left!!! The lady who does them is unable/refusing to see her! Any advise what sage can do until she is able to get an appointment with another salon? Thank you xx

I doubt another salon will see her if her eyes are in that much of a state Hun, if someone came to my salon like this wend refuse any treatment, not out of nastiness but we wouldn't want to make the reaction worse or get blamed for any of this happening! She needs to go to the a and e at a hospital if they are swollen, it sounds like she has had a reaction to the glue, I'd also tell her to go back to the original salon and ask if they have changed their glue or products without giving her a patch test! They can't just leave her like that, poor girl! Hope she's ok x

She has tried to get in with the lady but she is making things very difficult. She has asked if she has used a different glue and the tech is saying she hasn't, I think she has personally, as I said, my friend has been having the same women and lashes for around a year now and never had a slight reaction! My friends is heartbroken and in pain especially first thing in the morning which is to be expected having had them closed all night. Thank you I will let her know medical advise and not a salon is best xx

The tech may not have changed her glue, a reaction can start out of the blue without any changes being made.
She needs to get tose last lashes off, so if the tech wont see her and she is unable to go to another salon to get them off, she can use an oily cream /lotion to break down the glue.
In the mean time, she can take an anti histamine to reduce the swelling and reaction.
Also, has your friend done /used anything different to her normal products? Depending on her age, is she pregnant, going through the change or started any new /different medication?
x

No Miss Pink, nothing has changed at all, not pregnant nor going through the change. I have advised seeking medical advise and she will first thing, she only has a few left but hardly any of her own!! They have ripped them out! She has oil and is removing the last few as we speak xx

As misspink says, ypu can randomly develop a allergy at any time. Sometimes the more exposure you have to something can introduce it. It could also be an infection? You say they have ripped her lashes out, so you mean her extensions havent just fallen off, her own lashes have come out? This would usually be if shes rubbing because they're so irritated, is that right? X

Also just a thought: does she maybe have a sinus infection?
just remembered a client of mine texting me a few weeks ago asking if I had changed my glue as her eyes were sore and irritated, it turned out the next day she begun a sinus infection. After it cleared up, she was fine again.

She has rubbed but mainly when she wakes in the morning the pillow is full of lashes! No infections or colds etc. doctor has said today that both eyes are inflamed and given a course of antibiotics just in case. The tech decided to call round today to offer another patch test and get another set fitted!!!! I was staggered she is even contemplating putting another set on!!! If I had a client with a reaction I would be removing and not re fitting!!
