Hi Everyone!

I need some advise, i've decided that i want to learn semi permanent eyelash extensions before i do a fast trak itec beauty course with my local college which i cant start untill september.

I have so many questions about this, i've done lots of research over the last few days and looked in too so many companies and their prices to train me and its just made me more confused, i dont have much money as im currently on income support, but by a stroke of luck the last college i found on internet and phoned are offering me the chance to pay just £52 for an eyelash extension course which lasts 3 days at LCBT College.

I thought this sounds too good to be true but apparently they have just got goverment funding for short city and guild qualification courses for those under 19 or those over 19 but on income support which i am and im 28 years old. So i can now afford to do other course like make up and nails for £52 also.

My first question is anyone know what this college is like? and secondly do you think this is the route i should take as its my cheapest option to learn i would gain a city and guilds level 3 qualification.

Only problem is that they dont supply me with any kit to walk away from this course with and its not the first college that has told me this, so what happens then? where do people get their supplies from?
Most sites i have been on will only let you buy kits and lashes if you have trained with that particular company.

Any advise on this would be much appreciated.

thanks

Hi Kirsty,

I'm currently studying Lvl 2 VTCT in Beauty Therapy, so am not a professional (yet!) but I have learned that you will need insurance to practise any type of treatment, whether you are qualified or as a student.

I have student insurance to cover me on case studies for the VTCT course & recently took a 1-day course in indian head massage, but my insurer wont cover me as it's not included in their list of "approved" courses.

Before spending any money, I would have a look for insurance and see who will cover you for what courses - if something does go wrong while you're doing lashes (hopefully not), then better to be safe than sorry, especially if you want to start doing lashes on clients before your main course starts.

xxx
