Twice now when I have soaked off my fabric# nails I have noticed a slight imprint if you like, where the fabric has been on my nail. Has anyone else noticed this, and why would this happen.

There is no reason why it should or would happen other than you still have some resin left on your nail when you think you have soaked it all off.

I have never seen it or heard of it before. The resin looks just like the nailplate so I think you have not gone quite far enough. A soft buff with a Girlfriend buffer will smooth any resin left on the plate.

I don't think there is any product left on and I did buff them slightly just to make sure. It's almost like a key being pressed into plasticine, but only slightly though. If I look at Z3 where the nail has grown down I can see a slight variation in levels. Last time I applied them I hardly needed to file at all, so don't think it's anything to do with filing.

Maybe my nails are still suffering from my course in June and are thicker in Z3. Although I would have thought any damage done then would have started to grow out more now.

Sometimes this happens when the nail plate is being prepped a little to vigerous..........
Removing shine should be only once in direction of nail growth, using a soft 240 koala.........
If you do this more then once, during your prep, you will remove nailplate and this will be thinner then the regrowth area........So hence once you come to soak off fabric# you will see a nice arched look where the fabric# has been.............

Hi Ruth

This last time I certainly didn't file my nails too rigorously, but it may have been due to excessive filing when training and just after my course which of course has left them thinner.

I have learnt a lot since then and am very conscious now about filing, especially as I had very nice long natural nails before my course. I'm just going to have to wait a long time now for it all to grow out.

Thanks
