I'm not sure if im in the right bit im all new to this, also new to waxing. I have really fine baby hair all over my face but its more noticeable on my chin and upper lip i am getting really self conscious about it as a few people (men) have laughed and said i have a beard but its not dark. I have been wanting to wax it for a while but my husband said not to as if i think its bad now wait until it grows back after waxing it which has stopped me from doing it. I don't really wear make up propably a couple of times a month only because it just seems to sit on top of my hair and make it all noticeable can any one help or give any suggestions.

I feel your pain. Men can say the most awful things can't they! Point out their hairy nostrils and ears next time.

Ok, I would resist removing the hair totally because unless it's removed properly, you'll feel stubble.........even though it's fine hair and you'll be frightened every time someone touches your face or kisses you on the cheek.

A cheat's way around this is to get some strip wax and randomly dab it over your face, making sure you get the more noticeable hairs and remove with the strip. This will thin the hair out and make it less obvious. Hope that helps. x

thank you for your reply Kim :D
I know they don't think what it does to you when they say it, my husband says I am fine but its making me self conscious, I talk to people with my hand over my chin which probably makes it more noticeable.
Shall I by the strips that are ready to use as I only have veet warm wax.
If I randomly dab will I not have hairy patches :D
Sorry i am a bit dim
Danielle xx

I wouldnt start waxing it if it is fine, light hair, you risk it coming in stronger and darker :Scared:

It's awful isn't it. God, if there was something that got rid of fine blonde hair permanently, they'd be laughing all the way to the bank.

If you want to buy the home strips that's fine. When I say random, I mean random.........you don't want to end up looking like 101 Dalmations with perfect dots all over your face.

If your chin is the worst part, remove all of that and then where the hair starts (moving up onto your cheek), dab the wax strip here and there. What you don't want from the side is a bald chin and a line where the blonde hair starts.

Put the strip up to the chin bone and remove and the re-apply the strip from the chin bone upward as you should never pull off going round a bend as you might bruise or tear the skin. Support the skin as you remove the wax at all times.

Remember that this is the lesser of two evils. As MaisieMouse said, it's not ideal to wax the face but then your other option is to live a life of being embarrassed.

Hope it goes well. xx

I too have fluffy hair on my sidies and i am on the search for the perfect removal for downy hair. Its a very common problem for a lot of women. I am looking at hair v go but havent found many people that use it. At the moment i trim the hairs, they are so fine they dont feel stubbly. Electrolysis would be a far better option than waxing. Im afraid that the majority of people i have seen that wax their faces the hair comes back in darker and stronger.

A salon I used to work in had a popular treatment for downy hair called Alkaline wash. The one they used was made by Danne. You may want to investigate it x

I've looked at that. Did you see good results?

It was incredibly popular with people seeing out full courses. It removes all the hair each time regardless of the long term effects being permanent or not so I can't really tell you if it worked 100% as we had seperate clients, all I know is the the clients left hair free each time if a little pink on occasion. :)

Hair v go is another treatment like this, anyone know Bout results with it?

Why don't you go to someone who can do threading? I get a few clients who like the downy hair removed on their faces. Threading will remove the hair from the root but you can just remove the longer hairs. You don't end up with that shiny "bald" look, like with waxing.
