After Google-ing around about toe nail options I found this site. As a kid I use to do diving and swimming so was always around the swimming pool and got infected ingrown toenails 7 times in a row (3 on one foot, 4 on other) in the end the doctor took my nail beds out (big toes) to prevent this but this leaves me with no toenails on my big toes - well I say that there are bits where they missed a bit.

I have a problem where when I am away in flip-flops bits get stuck under the splints of nail that grow and cause infection (sand is worse) so I tend to wear plasters which does the job but not ideal, also people commenting on either no toenails or plasters is pretty annoying.

I am intrigued by some threads on here that say you can get fake nails made for short period of times, like holidays... is this really possible and any idea of the cost of this?

Thanks.

Hi! I have a client with the same problem, I used make her acrylic toe nails which she replaced every few days, these can only be done if there is no toe nail whatsoever. I recently found though, that Boots have false toe nails too and these have lasted 2 weeks! It's a lot less hassle too and we just paint over them to match the rest of her nails! X
