is it possible to train as a hair dressser in less than a year ? I am wanting a change of career, but don’t want to work in a salon I wanted to train then go mobile

NO, NO, NO.
Others will disagree....this is just the opinion of a 'Golden oldie' :p
Hair is harder than you think it will be....will take longer to learn than you expect.....You will need lot's of heads to PRACTICE on, over and over again.....AND.... you should, IMO, always start off in a salon!
That way, you will have support to hand, from experienced colleagues to help you along the way.

Yes, you can complete a 1 year fast track course and become qualified but you’ll struggle to work mobile without a lot more experience under your belt. Level 2 only gives you the absolute basics so no training in colour correction or advanced cutting techniques.
Realistically, you need at least 3000 hours practical experience before you’re likely to be competent enough to go it alone.
