Filing my nails

Hello,
Whenever I file my nails it always makes them split.
Anyone else have this issue???
Am I filing them wrong???

How are you filing them? Do you mean filing the free edge of your natural nails? If yes then are you filing in one direction? Going back and forth can cause splits and flaking x

What grit file are you using? Also as said before "sawing" can be harmful.

I was taught on my creative training that you can 'saw' with a kanga board and also read that it actually can seal the layers. Yet I do have a lot of clients with peeling nails so perhaps it's not so true.
