Yes, that would have been the best way for everyone involved, but sadly we didnt know and / or couldnt help till it was posted here....
Maybe this is a good point for everyone to consider contacting your supplier or trainer with any problems or queries you have as they will be able to help?

Glad you agree :) I just think it would be best to contact the supplier before giving less than good feedback about a product on a public forum. It may be damaging a company image when the problem could be easily solved!!! Afterall...... our customers can read these forums too!

Well said

I would be horrified to think my students/customers wouldn't come to me with a problem first, there is more than often a simple solution and feedback is always welcome good or bad xx

works both ways -this forum is also very often used to 'promote' specific brands, although against the rules to advertise as such - this blatantly goes on, despite claims to the contrary.

Come on - we are all grown ups! Company advisers are on this forum - why so inappropriate to seek advice and clarification. Also serves as a benefit to others. Can't have it both ways! (only talk about the positives, mustn't comment on the perhaps negatives/problems encountered) - now that indeed is product promotion

I can see both sides. I think if it was me I'd probably come on here first to see if others had the same issue then contact the distributers.

I did the same thing with NSI, although in saying that I don't have as good a relationship with anyone at NSI like I do with WOW.

I dont think you should not comment on here for advice but if you go directly to the manufacturer you are more likely to get the correct advice. If you bought a dress from.... River Island, washed it once and it fell apart. What would you do first? Take it back or throw it in the bin and ask on the internet what went wrong?! This site is excellent for people who need advice on what they are doing wrong or on asking for others experience of a particular brand or course but it still seems logical that actual product advice is best obtained by the people who know the product best. It also helps the company to work out if there is a particular issue that needs addressing.

As for the site being full of company advisors. Well of course it is. We all know Mr & Mrs Geek and from sweetsquared but they still run this site giving out information to anyone who asks for it and have willing invited other brands to do the same, that doesnt mean they will not promote their belief in the product they use and sell! As far as i'm aware, it is against the rules to blatantly advertise your company here on site but i always tell people how wonderful the brand i use is, i dont work for them but i do advertise them! I havent seen anything in this post that is advertising a particular brand, the company involved has just been kind enough to answer the questions asked but i'm sure they would have prefered to do that in person rather than hope to happen across this thread.

amen to that

Any good manufacturer would and should welcome customers contacting them with problems they may be experiencing or any difficulties they may be encountering through the use of there products or services.

It is this sort of customer/supplier contact that aids both parties to understand things better and resolve problems...the supplier can advise the customer correctly on what may have caused a problem specific to their product ,its usage and likewise the company can identify quickly if there are any problematic issues it needs addressing for the benifit of all it's customers.

Logic would say if you are experiencing a problem with any suppliers product or service that your first port of call would be with the...well erm..the supplier .

Looking at some postings that are made from time to time one does have to shake ones head and wonder why the problem being posted wasn't ever taken up with the supplier before posting.

God knows how many times I have posted "have you actually tried speaking with your supplier to resolve your problem as yet" in response to these postings over the last couple of years.

Quiet rightly if you are getting no where with your supplier then of course look at other mediums for assistance.

All professionals who use product have there favorites and put these forward because they believe in that product or brand ..and thank goodness for that however many such postings clearly are simple attention seeking or may have "other" motives behind them..... im sure peeps in general can see through these all by themselves :)

Mediums such as these forums are frequented by a multitude of individuals involved in the beauty sector from suppliers, manufacturers, therapists, aspiring therapists, students, colleges etc as well as the consumer...your customer

Many contribute in a positive way offering a divers range of perspective to posted questions and general issues which come up from time to time as well as many peeps who prefer to remain in the shadows and watch, listen and learn

I often wonder wonder what they think when reading between the lines :):hug:

Mmmm - except we're not talking about a dress from river island are we - I think we would all know what to do!

Don't believe I said there was anything wrong with company reps being on here either. Like you point out - of course they are. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Which is why many post queries relating to specific products on here and rightly so expect a response. Why would that be so wrong? My point reiterates the fact that obviously some would only prefer the positive experiences of a product to be discussed. And the responses confirm so X

I have to say that i have found this to not be true in all cases:hug: I have been calling round lots of adhesive suppliers as I am looking at very fast adhesives, and, without exception, companies have told me that their adhesive is the one I am looking for!! I ask specific questions, for specific answers, and most of the companies I called talked a good talk. Sadly, when the products arrive, they do not match up to that talk!! Not only does it waste my hard earned cash, but I lose faith in the company then! I always, without exception, look on this site and others to see if i can get a general opinion from the people actualy using the products, not just working for them.
I am not talking about any one company, but obviously, these companies are in the business of sales, which is great, but i do wish they would be more honest about their products capabilities. Again, this is not aimed at any one comapny:hug:

Well that is a perfect use of the forum! You are getting a general opinion of the best product for you to use for your requirements and the best people to ask are those who use the products....all of them. That way you get a wide range of views and can make your opinion on what seems best!!!

My comments are just pointing out that if there has been a problem with a product and it hasnt performed as you would expect..... call the person who supplied the product!! It may be a simple fix!

Too many people see companies as the big baddies trying to scam them out of their hard earned money. Everyone works to earn, but that doesnt mean that companies arent happy to help those who use the services or products they provide. If it was my business being discussed, i'd like to think that someone would have asked me first.
