Hi everyone, i used to be a member however forgot my old account name!! I’m doing a women’s hair tonight who I’ve done for 4 years - she normally has a full head highlights with a 10/1 toner to take the yellow out. Over the years she’s gotten more grey, I would say she’s 50-60% grey now and wants to try a full head tint highlift. We still want to achieve that 10/1 toner so I will keep the toner the same, what would you use for the tint? I was thinking eiether 12/1 and 12% or 12/0 and 12%. Her based colour is around a 7-8, any advice would be amazing! X

The highlift won't be as clean as bleach, and you won't get any coverage on her greys, in fact the tone will probably grab on those areas and look very grey.

12/1 doesn't have adequate tones to neutralise warmth so the result will probably be orange.

If I were you I'd do a patch test of either 12/89 or 12/81 somewhere under the crown that won't be seen.

Personally thought its easier in the long run to stick with bleach.
