hi
im brand new to the world of gel extentions, just started my courses and im currently practicing on family and friends free of charge because i havnt got my certificates yet. my question is how long should it take me to prep the nails, size and fit tips and do the extentions with polish on after. im finding this is taking me 2 to 3 hours to complete. i feel this is too long but don't know how to cut the time down

That's about right for a beginner. Ultimately you're aiming for an hour to an hour and a half but right now concentrate on doing things right, perfect prep is the key to long lasting nails so ignore time for now.

It takes me about three hours hun, I’m new to it too. I started in November and haven’t cut my time down yet. I’m still trying to get my technique right x

Like Trinity said 3 hours is perfectly normal for a beginner . I took that long too and now do full set with colour in approx 1 hour 15 mins . The time comes down naturally as you become more familiar with the process and quicker with your file

A good idea is to break down your application into parts and see what is taking you the longest so
Prep
Application and blending of tips
Application of gels
Finishing of gel
Application of colour
For a beginner normally the application and blending of tips takes the longest as this is one of the parts that is hardest to master
