I recently qualified on 6th December in acrylic, gel, fibreglass and silk. I did a set of gel extensions yesterday on my sister in law and had to go back today and re do them as the gel had lifted from some of the tips. I have just teceived a message off her saying that the gel on her thumb nail has chipped on the corner. I did these with nsi gel and nsi dura tips and also used glitter patted onto the wet gel then cured the added another thin layer of gel over the top, cured then finished with glaze and go. I prepped all nails really well like I usually would and I really dont understand why this is happening. The only thing I am using new is the dura tips.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening please?
Thanks

Did you remove shine off the tip?

Yes I removed shine from tip and capped free edge

Do you maybe have any pics? Was there a good apex, how thick were they? Maybe they were a tad on the thin side? Did you ensure proper tip placement?

i always cure first , then lightlt press the glitter into the sticky inhibition layer, that way i never have any problems with under curing xxx

I always do thin layer...cure..another thin layer..cure...pat on a light amount of glitter...under lamp for 30 seconds..cleanse.plush brush...thin layer over the glitter tip...cure..glitter...cure then build the rest of then nail...seems long winded but I find it so easy and I then don't get glitter all over the nail..also make sure u cap the free edge with every layer of gel and your topcoat x

what grit file are you using to remove the shine

have you done your sister in laws nails successfully before?
