I have been doing nails for a long time, i trained with ezflow for liquid and powder and have been doing them ever since i started, however i was trained in ibd for gel and worked with it for a couple of years, they used this at the salon i was in, i have not done a set of gel nails for about 8 years, i just thought im not really in the know about what brands are really good and which are not as good.

I am looking to buy a whole collection and probably some brush up training or do a conversion course or something, im not 100% on this but i am thinking soak off gel is something im interested in but not sure how they compare, someone who i know still uses ibd and said she doesnt get on with the soak off one so well.

I also want a brand that i can use alot of colour, i have most of the ezflow colours for my liquid and powder and they are very popular, so think my clients would be interested in the coloured gel.

what im asking is if any of you are gel geeks, what you use and have you compared it to anything else? spose i am after a list of good brands that i can look up, i dont mind how much it costs me as i want a decent brand that i can trust.

i have so far looked at

EZFLOW, looks like nice colours, never used it though so dont know what its like.

ENTITY, dont have any colours

IBD, looks like nice colours, but im sure it has changed since i did them (no colours back then)

what else is out there???????

thankyou x

Everyone has a line of SOG nowadays it seems! BioSculpture (a little spendy but HUGE # of colors) Aksentz (same as Bio) Calgel, OPI, CND, Jessica, etc.
You do reallize that the SOG's are not meant to sculpt with, more for just natural nail overlays. It really is a personal choice so do your research and try out as many as possible.

oh no i didnt know that about the soak off gels, its been so long im like a newy lol, there wernt any soak off gels when i was first doing them (not that i knew of anyway) i do remember them not being that bad to buff off though, thankyou for your reply, i will look those ones up and will probably contact them so i can get some info sent out in the post or something.

thankyou very much for reading through my post, after i sent it i realised how long it was, oops lol

This isn't quite accurate.

Some soak off gels you can use to enhance nails and to extend such as Bio Sculpture and Calgel. Other soak off gels are meant for the natural nail and are essentially colour coats and are not enhancement gels but the colour will last 2-3 weeks without chipping or flaking (great to entice new natural nail clients to the salon).

There are allot of different kinds of gels .. it really is not a case of Either Or. More a case of building up an entire repertoir of different gel services. It would be my advice to get comfortable and proficient with all types of gels as the gap between L&P and gel services is shrinking now and you need to know it all.

Le chat do SOG's, and a range of colors etc so might be worth looking up, and products arent badly priced, and ive seen a lot of good reviews on here for le chat

thankyou very much for you replys, i have alot to look into and think about lol, i will have a look on all of their websites, im a bit lost looking at them as its been so long, im sure i will find something i like with a lot of choice, i will probably benefit from a brush up course or something with which ever brand i decide.

many thanks for all the advice x : )
