I am looking for help on gel polish, I currently use opi and gelish, I am finding that the darker opi colours don't always cure around the sides and edges, I've ensured base coat is covering the nail plate, I use a led lamp, (Sibel brand) colour covers well. Looks perfect, Then when it comes to wiping off, the colour comes off, not from every nail, but most, and not on lighter colours, and I cure for longer than required. I'm mobile so was wondering could it be that my kit is in the car, so gets hot/ cold depending on the weather, (although polishes seem fine), or is it worth investing in a opi or gelish lamp, or should I change completely and go with shellac? xXx

You could well be experiencing curing problems, particularly as you are not using dedicated lamps to the OPI or Gelish systems.

You may as well buy the OPI lamp, if you convert to shellac the lamps just as expensive then you've got to buy a new set of polishes too.

You need to use shellac base coat with shellac, if it comes off the client will think you're a bad tech.

So do I change system or stick to what I know and invest in the lamp??!! Lol! xXx

So the shellac kit lamp will cure existing polishes? I always use same system through out each set.
I was just going to buy a whole new starter kit in whichever system I chose xXx

Oops I've replied to a different thread on yours.

If you're happy with OPI generally why change? You just need the lamp.

Lol, that's ok fluffy cloud! I was unsure if the lamp would make the difference, but I think I will have to get the opi one and see! I do have a mini asp one, just confused as I thought they'd all do the same thing! X

Might be that you are applying darker colours too thickly and its not curing properly, but like others have said, get yourself a nail lamp as recommended by the manufacturer because not all lamps are the same and they cure at different wavelengths. There are three types of curing and the symptoms that you have seems indicative to be the first one:

Under cure
Perfect cure
Over cure
