Gel polish on acrylics

Does anyone have any tips on gel polish over acrylics?? I use ibd gel polish and on quite a few clients I'm getting chipping / or peeling after a couple of days. I apply 2 coats very thinly over a buffed acrylic nail, coarsely buffed too to help adhesion. Iv tried with and without base coat with the same problem every time even though I also always cap the free edges too. It's so annoying

Oh wow I've just posted the same problem. It's really getting me down. I too, have used base coat but cannot get gel to stay. I've tried omitting buffer and finish off with 180 grit file and still get peeling and chipping every single time. Very frustrating

Hi strange I was going to post similar question lol.
I find when I gel polish over acrylics I dry brush base coat first then two coats of colour and it seems fine but when I do the same with gel nails the colour runs and goes wishy washy. Should I not base coat gel nails before I apply gel polish?

No there is no need to use a base coat over extensions.
Do not buff to a smooth finish either as the gel polish will not adhere to the product and more likely to peel.
