How long does it take you guys to remover and reapply gel polish it's taking me and hour and a half which feels too long
Thankyou x

About 60-70 mins but I am very particular with my application. It takes me 10 mins to remove x

I take about an hour & 15mins/30mins including removal. It only takes me 10mins to soak the product off, the rest is prep & application. Hopefully I'll speed up over time but for now I'd rather take a bit longer to make sure I'm doing everything properly & as well as I can xx

I know this is an old thread but I figured it'd be better to comment here rather than start a new one. Had my first proper non friend client last night. She turned up (late) at about 7.40. She swore she had shellac on ("yes its definitely shellac the bottles said" pre appt..) she arrived and said the bottles they'd used weren't anything like the ones I had, the gel polish was applied so thickly they were the thickness of a medium thick acrylic overlay and took me about half an hour to remove. She couldn't decide on a colour and went with Romantique after I recommended rosebud as she didn't want something sheer.. two coats later she says she wants rosebud so I applied a coat over what was there (all still thinner than what she'd had on previously!) and by the time she left it was 9.25.. almost two hours!!! Is this acceptable?!! I only qualified in gel polish a few months back and only have fake nails, myself and a few friends who I also have (not in months) done acrylics with gel polish on so not much practise of natural nail gel polish. Any tips how to improve my speed?!!! Feeling quite disheartened as she kept commenting on her OH texting to say he was hungry and waiting for her.. :/ x

So she was late, had fake shellac on, changed her mind when you'd started & is living with a giant man child?.

It's not you, it's her. I would say I'm fully booked if she rings again.

Did you charge extra for the removal of the non-shellac product? I would have!

No I didn't. TBH, as I'd mentioned on another post, I'd only found her because she wanted someone who was "cheap". I know I MASSIVELY undercharged her, especially for removal of non shellac gel polish (I would have soaked them rather than wrapped and possibly buffed off the seal a bit if I'd have known!) so I'm not too beaten up by it. Also her attitude was a bit rude; before she said hi as she got to my door she said "oh.. it's a flat".. my address is clear on my fb page and I do call it my "home salon"! Also, she turned her nose up at most of my colours and suggestions.. she doesn't like glitter?!!! I know I'm not in a position to pick and choose my clients but I'd like to have people who can help me and my creativity grow by not being stuck in only having a plain nudey-pink...! I started in nail art after all!!! :/ (sorry mini rant over ;) thanks for making me realise I wasn't too bad after all!!) love the positivity and inspiration I get from SG :) x

Honestly, don't beat yourself up about it. She doesn't really sound like a client you want again, she is obviously not loyal or bothered about good workmanship, sounds like she is just after cheap prices. Don't undersell yourself, you obviously are passionate about your work which will show; this will bring you the clients you want and will stick with you [emoji4].

Dont worry about the timings... sometimes i can do 45 mins... sometimes 90 mins... all depends on how much prep and nail art etc...
