Hi,

I normally use Blue sky and Gelish on myself. Yesterday I decided to treat myself and have someone else apply my gel polish. They used Jessica Geleration. As it was applied to my natural nails there are of course a few dips. On the other side of the dips the polish appears to be very thick and there is some shrinkage on a few other nails. I have purchased a bottle of the colour for myself. I was thinking of lightly buffing the nails and applying a very thin layer of top coat for the thick polish to level it out and re-capping the free edge on the others. Do you think this could work?

Thanks.

So sorry to hear that you didn’t have an amazing experience. I have had that when I go and treat myself and I get great service, but horrible results. It’s one of those eye opening moments where I appreciate the time I spend giving my clients the best result possible. We should all have this experience in our careers and learn from them.

If I where you I would take the experience further and go back if you can and say your not happy with the result and to have the redo the service. That’s what I hope my clients will do if they are not happy with my work.

If you want to go at it on yourself it’s fine to, but do you have the proper equipment to do so. Do you have their lamp and their finishing product to get the best result. You could go ahead and Frankenstein it so you feel better about your nails, but it will never be as optimal without their full system in use.

I would personally remove it and redo my own nails if I went to someone that’s does not meet my expectations and just consider it a lesson.

I really do hope you get a better experience in the future and it’s most likely sloppy application and not the brands fault ( I don’t know the brand, but it’s my bet)

Love that you shared this and it’s so important for other techs to read so we can learn from the clients perspective :)

Thank you for this. I was a little bit worried about getting anyone in trouble. I think I'll take your advice and give them a call.

Thanks again
