Gelish on top of nail extensions

Hi All, Hope someone can help me, I'm fairly new to nails and have been trying new things. I've bought Gelish and a selection of colours, my sis in law wanted nail extensions with a colour, I did it and put in the LED 12 watt lamp to cure and she experienced burning sensation almost immediately, i tried without the extension and she was absoloutly fine and the nails cured.....Can you not use Gelish on top of nail extensions?

Yes you use Gelish over an extension, I have a number of times. Was it over gel or acrylic? Also, have you completed training - did they mention heat spike? That's basically what the pain is you are describing, and you generally get it when nails are very thin or the product is too thick.
