Hello all! This is my very first post (yay, go me!). I'm just going to give you my life story and let you all advise me on what to do! ;)

Basically, I got acrylics done for years and years until I, quite suddenly, developed an awful allergy to them. Yes, I've only been to discount salons who are probably using MME (see, I read!) Shame on me. Anywho, I am allergic to practically everything from grass to chicken meat. I tend to ignore my allergies because I'm stubborn. I have paper thin nails that won't grow. They're flimsy and bend easily. To top it all off, I bite them! OY VEY! I don't want any more dental work (yeah, years of nail biting will wear your poor chompers) and having fake nails on prevents me from biting them and makes me look less pathetic.

I'm looking into Gelish and Shellac, wondering if there's a possibility I will be allergic to them. Or ANYTHING anyone can suggest to help me have pretty nails again.

Thank you so much and sorry for the book

As a fellow multi allergic person ;) I'd say the best way to know is to try them..
I have tried Gellish and although I didn't get any skin allergy some of my nails did lift after I removed ..as I had a bit of a fungul problem a few months before I thought they'd become infected again! then tried them again and home I had them removed same thing happened! Now the tech had been doing them a few months by then and she said she has never seen anything like it ..I do trust I was the first bec I know how prof they r so I looked into it online ( there was n0 pain whatsoever) and found that many people have the same reaction!! As these products are still new in the market ( compared to other things) few techs actually why u get allergic! I am not allergic to any nail related products btw !

I didn't try doing them again and I probably won't bec. I love painting my nails and doing my own designs..

so do give it a try but be willing to accept it if u r allergic and don't keep them for long the first time at least!
