Can anybody here help?

I did a full set of Gellux nails on a client.

Full prep, bonder, thin coats of polish plus capped and this has happened. I've never seen anything like it!

Can anyone speculate as to what may have happened?

If you zoom in on the bottom picture to the thumb that's chipped you can see a slightly jagged edge down the side wall, its possible the top coat didn't fully cover the edge if the colour coat so it's peeled.

First instinct would be client picking but zooming in on the top picture doesn't show any natural nail damage so my next consideration was touching skin, thats not the case as you have a nice clear margin around the skin, but when zooming in to check thats when I saw the slightly iffy side wall.

Does that look right or possible to you? :(

Thanks Trinity, I think you could be right.

It's such a shame because they looked gorgeous.

I'll have to double check my application once applying before sealing. I'd never come across anything like this before so it's been really good to have another perspective on the matter.

Thank you.

Thank you.

You're very welcome, its lovely to see someone take advice graciously and openly, without getting defensive and rude.

I agree it's a shame as they are a lovely set that I'd be more than happy to wear so well done.

Maybe turn the clients finger more when doing your side wall downward stroke, you'll get a better view for any potential missed spots. I think we sometimes worry too much about clients comfort but we only need a few second of twisting to ensure we do a good job

Don't be disheartened ;)
