Hi, I'm newly qualified as a gel nail technician and I find removing Gellux a nightmare. I've applied the gel correctly in line with their recommended processes and to remove I'm using the corrects products. 40mins on and I still can't shift it despite buffing off topcoat! This is ridiculous, how can I possibly offer this service to paying clients?!
Is this normal? I've seen some people have problems and others don't, why would this be?

Should I try a different product??

If others don't have problems, then the trouble is too thick an application or improper wrapping, perhaps not enough remover. Try removal with a warm wheat bag or heated mittens, do a thinner application, and buff a bit more.

I do a Gellux removal & Redo in 1 hr easily, it needs buffing before you wrap the nails to soak, so the acetone can penetrate you must break the seal first (but the upside of this seems to be that it's a bit less affected by cleaning products etc)

You may not be buffing enough, especially if product is a bit thick?

Leaving the wraps on too long can be counter productive because the remover evapourates and the gel hardens again. Make sure you buff then soak for 10 mins and try to remove the product, if there is still a little stubborn product re-wrap and move on to the next nail.

What grit file/buffer are you using to break the seal of the topcoat?

Thanks, I'll try a thinner application. Dec enough remover

On my nails any gel I've ever had on has been difficult to remove, even on

Wow I never thought of that. My nail cling to the gel more than most anyway. Probably more porous.

Gellux does a easy off base coat.
