Hi!

My salon used to offer me a £10 product which my stylist would prepare, then apply to the areas with pronounced grey. I would wait for a while prior to washing off and occasionally she would apply more than once during the same treatment. Unlike a permanent colour, I was told that this would subtly blend the grey in and make it much less noticeable, and that the colour would remain for a good few weeks. I was very happy with this touch-up, as it were, as it did what I wanted it to do, conveniently, and with little impression on my wallet. My salon now says that they no longer stock my colour, despite my hair being dark brown, and the only alternative they suggest is a much more expensive colour. I have tried in vain doing a search on-line to see if any other salon in Glasgow offers this more reasonably priced alternative, but as I don't know the name of the product or the terminology for the treatment I'm at a bit of a loss. Therefore what I'm asking you professionals is if you know of any products that this sounds like, or any that they would recommend. I would happily go to any salon in Glasgow that offered a reasonably priced treatment, or maybe if the treatment is easy, could I purchase a product and have a go myself? Are there any products that match my description above which I could successfully treat myself with?

Any help/advice/knowledge most gratefully recieved.:)

Hi there...

The only product i can think of that seems as you've described, is L'oreal Homme Cover'5 .... however, don't go under the impression you can buy this on the internet and have a go...it will never be the same as you have in the salon and it is generally a cheap service to have done anyway, as it doesn't need to stay on long...i think in the first salon i worked in, we charged £15 but it really depends on the area, and that was an upmarket salon.

Use the above link to find your nearest loreal salons...but you may find a lot of them don't stock this product so you'll have to do a bit of ringing around...good luck :)
