Hi all

I am looking for some help

I suffer from ingrown hairs on my legs both top and bottom of the knee but not the knee and cannot get rid. Iv tried the ingrown go product and didnt help. Ive tried not shaving for a week or two as suggested by my doc to see if that helps and after hating the fact i couldnt shave for 2 weeks, it didnt make a difference. Ive tried exfoliating my legs before shaving and this dosnt work either. I do tweeze the hairs out with a sterile tweezer as if i leave to long they get infected.

My other problem is the hairs on my upper legs are so hard to get rid off. Iv had them waxed and i still end up with hairs left and not due to the beautician not doing her job she went over the area a few times and still some hairs stayed. Shaving is the same. Ive also tried immac and that didnt get rid of all the hairs either. They are blonde hairs if that makes a difference. Any ideas please.

Would me buying an epilator help these problems? It has been suggested by a beautician but i dont want to buy one if its not gonna to help

Thank you in advance

I think ipl (laser) hair removal would be your best option. It works wonders for ingrowing hairs.

Have you tried dry body brushing before?
It works for me, use the body brush before a bath or shower.
Also if you apply magnesium sulphate on the ingrown hair with a plaster over the top over night by morning the hair should be poking out the surface, you can then tweezer the hair out.
Sudocream also helps if you have broken skin.

Iv never tried or heard of body brushing. I do exfoliator my legs with a exfoliating glove but dosnt help. Iv got no chance of puttin a plaster on the ingrown hair as there are that many id need ALOT of plasters lol.

Getting rid of lots of ingrown hairs can be a long process. Have you tried regularly waxing your legs? No shaving or anything in between, just waxing. It's frustrating when you want instant results but sometimes you have to try lots of things.

Easing them out is important but picking and digging will make them look a lot worse.

With your arms I would continue to get them waxed as well - hairs don't always come out on the first wax because of different stages of hair growth and doing things like shaving and immac in between won't help.

Try a different therapist using a wax like Perron rigot or lycon. Also maybe try a different ingrown hair product as they're not all the same.

Try not to get too upset by them, we all get them in varying degrees and they're never as bad as you think! Let us know how you get on xx

Getting on a regular waxing schedule and following correct home care routine will ease these issues and over time, and hopefully they won't be issues any more! Waxperts Wonder Pads are a dream for ingrown hairs and a build up of dead skin cells especially on knees which is such a common complaint from clients. They also condition the skin so the prevention of future dead skin cells in minimised. Give them a go and see how you get on. I use exfoliating gloves with shower gel 3-4 times weekly on my legs and use the pads nightly. There is such an improvement on my shins which was my problem area with embedded ingrowns. I hope that might help. :)

I have the exact same problem. Had my legs waxed regularly for over a year and the Ingrowns are worse than before. I'm resorting to ipl now.
Groupon have some good deals on courses. A friend of mine got a Groupon only had 3 sessions out of 10 (didn't bother to go back for the rest) and she doesn't get Ingrowns anymore at all! And her last session was like 6 months ago. I'm going to give it a go xx

I purchased an epilator and although it keeps the hairs away for longer which is great especially as i had to shave everyday, the Ingrown hairs are just as bad x
